Welcome to Ganz Guitars

Ganz Romanillos tribute (sometimes known as the Ganzanillos)	I met José Romanillos in 1996, at a Luthier conference. I love this man's honest and humble yet learned approach to building. In 2004 I went to Spain to learn more. The result is a new model that is dedicated to his approach to building. Features unique to this model include many details. Concert	This is a true concert size body. A little extra area on the soundboard, and a little more air moved through the body. The lower bout is 14.6 ". The leftmost pic shows a flamenco guitar with this plantilla. The guitar on the right is the back of a seven string. I only use African Blackwood in response to special request from customers.
The Babe (el bebé)	This body style is petite. The width of the lower bout is just 14", the length just at 19". I don't really do copies of other guitars, but I played a beautiful little Bernabe in 1999 that I loved. (It's true, I love guitars!) This body style, neck, and bridge are inspired by that instrument. This is not a copy of that Bernabe, but it does have the features that I think are critical to the playability and sound of that particular instrument. This guitar shape is extremely huggable. It works well for shorter scale lengths.
Special	Sometimes customers require a guitar to fulfill certain dreams and aspirations. The guitar on the left is a7 string, with a cutaway. The guitar to the right shows a body style I developed for short scale instruments with wiiiiiiide necks like this 11 string guitar. The scale length is 620mm. Notice the slightly larger upper bout. This is still a very traditional and graceful look.
Original	I no longer use this body style, or plantilla, on my guitars. It was a composite of many guitars that I had inspected. I used this body style on many guitars, but I started to look for something different after a few years. It is large. The lower bout is 14 5/8". The length of the body is about 19.5" I still like this plantilla, just not as much as my new ones.
